Thanks everyone, I was never in doubt about the ambulance body, just the chassis it was on but it is clearly an Austin now that you've enhanced the pic.

Hi Henning, hi Bill,

I think it could be a Borgward. Please, look at the rectangle on the grille. But I have no information, what type it could be. I didn´t know, that Borgward produced tractors.

Hello Bert,Bill

Sorry I dont look carefully, I dont notice the Borgward Rombus!!!!

I take fast a improved picture from a book. Yes, Hansa-Lloyd/ Borgward produced Eilschlepper. The picture shows a Mercur 1936-1938
The searching truck produced after 1938, they change the factory name ending 1938 from Hansa-Lloyd to Borgward.

I will asked a lot of friends getting more informations for you.

regards
Henning

Hi Henning,

thank You for posting this for me very interesting pic of an Eilschlepper of Hansa-Lloyd. Can You tell me the book, where the pic is from. Maybe it´s still possibel to buy it. I´m very interested in the vehicles produced by Hansa-Lloyd and Borgward.

Thanks in advance. Greetings

Bert

Hi Sturm:

I would make them as follows:
Mercedes G3a
Man, possibly an E-2 model
Mercedes, possibly on O 3750 chassis

Hello Sturm and Bill.

No 1: Mercedes Benz type G 3 a (Bill is right)

No 2: MAN F4 / F5 (much to large for an E 2 Bill).

No 3: Mercedes Benz O 3500 or O 3750 (Bill is right, too).

Regards, Holger.

According to Oswald it is a Kfz. 63 (Schallmeßstellen-Kw., Lichtmeßstellen-Kw., Vorwarner-Kw.) or a Kfz. 64 (Vermessungsgeräte-Kw.).

My mistake on the MAN (and I posted this very early this morning but it was not accepted for some reason).
I saw the post at 0500 hours and grabbed my only reference book on MAN and it seems the author made a bad identification.

I should have looked at your site first!!

Hi Henning, hi all others,

do You remember. We were discussing the type of a light Borgward truck in June this year with an open cab, typical for many Wehrmacht trucks. Now I have found a pic of a similar truck of Borgward. Maybe we can continue our discussion of June.

Regards

Bert

Hello Bert

I think its a early L1400:
Look at the back weel, I think its a single weel
Their are 3 hinge on the side.
Look at the round mudguards in the back
The late version or the "entfeinerte":
smaller lights.cornered back mudguards like the car from the Victory museum.

The source from the first discus in june is a miracle for me.

regards
Henning
