Hi,

Can't help with that one I'm afraid, but I have another vehicle needing an ID.

This shot comes from the background of the surrender of Jagdtigers in 1945, so apologies for the size/quality of the image. It looks a bit like some sort of Mercedes or Horch to me, but the small side windows look like the car is a cabriolet of some description...

Answers on a postcard please...

Cheers
Steve

Hi Kees,

That was quick!

Thanks for that, I think you are right, considering the quality of the image, that looks like the best option.

Cheers

Hi Sturm:

The basic vehicle is a 1937 Ford. I am not sure yet which company made the conversion to 6X4 drive.
The cabin is definitely locally made and could be from the Benelux area or even the Nordic area.

Hi All:

This is a repost of an earlier photo in the beute/umbau section.
I have now spent about 4 unsuccessful hours trying to Id the vehicle and I am frustrated as hell.

Several members who know their vehicles have suggested it is an Adler. I have yet to find a good photo of the Adler possibilities they have suggested.

The seller advertised the photo as being taken in Belgium, the B prefix on the registration plate made me think it might be a Belgian origin vehicle. Others have suggested it might be a German registration plate.

The driver's cabin is more like a typical Benelux cabin than a German one so I am still looking in that direction.

However, I have exhausted all of my Belgian vehicle sources, Google and Wiki and I still cannot come up with a positive ID for this truck. I hope reposting the photo here may get us some more opinions.

I hate to give up...............

Bill

Hi Bill,

thank You for Your argumentation. And I have to excuse me for the nonsense I wrote in this thread. The registration plate could never be German. I think that Your direction towards Belgium is the right way. I´m sorry, but I cannot help You in this question.

Regards

Bert

I'm not able to identify truck but uniforms of soldiers in the background suggest 1940. It's interesting that front right tire is 190-18 or 210-18 Gelände tire, front left seems to be the original one with different pattern.
Best regards,
