Re: Vehicle identity requests
Can anyone identify pick-up on the background? For me it looks like GAZ-M415.
Best regards,

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Thank you for your help, Bill; although it is difficult to secure given the poor condition of the vehicle

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Bill and all,
On an interesting, unknown beauten truck.
I do not have Adler truck pictures, so I guess the typical features;
- Radiator guard, headlamp position and bar.
- Bumper with holes, similar to the PKW - http://www.adler-veteranen.de/fotogal/a ... age36.html
Do not like the two rear wheels.
Best Regards,
Saulius

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hello all:
I am still hunting for an answer on the small beute truck but I now found another mystery today on ebay.de.
The only similar car I am familiar with is the Horch/Argus and this photo does not look at all like the photos I have seen of that one.
Edit: Note what appears to be dual rear wheels.
Any ideas??
Bill

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Eastern Front, probably late 1942 or early 1943. What make is the truck, what's its function (it has a chimney), and what unit might it belong to? The license plate # puzzles me.
Thanks in advance,
Björn

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Yes, a Aero 30 on Dutch classic vehicle licence plates equipped with series Sodomka body and an owner I happen to know....
It reactivates an old question of me. I always thought that the germans were not using two stroke engines in their vehicles. Though the posted original photo shows a Polizei car, could anyone give me a clue bwhether the Germans (SS, WH, WL, Pol) had some policy on the use of two stroke cars?
Thanks
Kees

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Kees:
Thank you for the verification. A very long, long search.
To your question, two stroke vehicles from minor manufacturers were perhaps a budget concern. They were cheaper than four stroke engine cars and for the most part were used in non combat areas. Note on George's original photo, there is no militarization of the car at all. Normal headlamps etc.
