Stephan has been spot on with the last two Renault trucks and I thank him for the link to the site.
Unfortunately, even though I seem to be able to copy the photos as normal, they do not appear in my photo file as readable or exportable.

The site is very good for trucks, but I think the heart of the posters is in automobiles, and there is a wealth of information and very good photos on cars.

Thanks again Stephan, not too much good reference materiel on the net regarding French vehicles of the non-military type.

Hi guys,

This looks like a French vehicle to me, or Austrian... any ideas anyone?

Taken in France 1940, after the conflict.

Cheers

Hi guys,

A couple more vehicles please...

The car is American, but the model/make isn't jumping out at me...

The COE truck looks American too, maybe ex-French service?

Thanks Steve

Hi Steve:

The car is a 1938 Oldsmobile and the truck is about the same vintage Chev or GMC, most likely a Chev.
Both are quite rare and not often seen in Europe, so nice photos to have.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for that, I just didn't know where to start with the Oldsmobile.

Here are two more, the dump-truck reminds me of a French vehicle (edit - with a Gaz-55 behind it), and the van looks like a Renault, but if someone has any more info on which type, that would be great.

Cheers

Hi again guys,

Hmmm, those two are proving very difficult.

Here are two more, hopefully a little easier.

Is the first one a Steyr 640? The double arch over the rear wheels looks wrong for this make of truck? Also what does the tactical sign mean on the right mean?

Secondly, is this an early Mercedes-Benz L3000, or another type?

Thanks again
Steve

Hi all,

About your vehicles, Steve, I think you are right about the first one: Steyr 640.
About the Mercedes truck, it is a difficult question. I think Lo2750 or Lo3000 but I am not sure. :?

On the other hand, Can somebody help me with this truck? FAUN ???

Hi Steve, hi Sturm 78,

- to the dump truck: like You I think that it could be a French vehicle, but I have no idea what type it could be.
- to the van: I donßt think that it is a Renault, but a Ford 3 tonner type 01 T.
- to the third vehicle: You are right, it is a Steyr 640. Here a pic of such a vehicle (source: expired ebay auction).
- to the Mercedes: I think it is the type Lo 2750, the special version for the Wehrmacht. The pic is out of the book "Kraftfahrzeuge und Panzer der Wehrmacht" by Werner Oswald with the information, that this truck was delivered to the Wehrmacht in the years 1933 to 1936.
- and to You pic, Sturm: I think it is a Faun type L 400. Please have a look on Holger´s site. There are good pics of these vehicle.

Regards

Bert

Hi Bert,

Fantastic, thanks so much for your time in working these out.

By the way, do you happen to know the function (Kfz number) of this form of Steyr? The tac sign with an M within the Infanterie Kompanie symbol is odd to me, and I can't work out what the symbol on top of it is....

Thanks once again.

Now I'll have to find that dump truck.....

Cheers

Sorry Steve,

I don´t know neither the function (Kfz. number) nor the tactical sign. Maybe a special vehicle of the "Marine" (M) (navy) ?
I have only the information that Steyr produced from 1937 to 1941 3780 vehicles of the type 640.

Cheers

Bert
