Re: Vehicle identity requests
This is not a strictly identity question, but............
I came across this photo yesterday on Google.fr looking for something else.
I have never heard of nor seen a Citroen-Marmon Model 23. The photo certainly indicates a driveshaft to the front wheels but I am not certain. As it is only a drawing, I am a little concerned that it may be someone's imagination but I thought here was a good place to ask for more information.
Thanks
Bill

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Bill,
Your concern seems justified based on the fact that the picture appears to originate from an alternate time line site. The Citroen-Marmon pic can be found among other mostly imaginary or anachronistic vehicle images at http://www.1940lafrancecontinue.org/FTL ... es/France/
Regards,
Markus

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Thank you so much Markus!!
That is the same site I got this photo from and there are also other vehicles that do not appear in any other listings of French vehicles that I have looked at over the last 25 years or so.
Perhaps someone's fantasy????????

Re: Vehicle identity requests
@Bill. I think the thread of Finnish vehicles you wanted to refresh is this:
http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=115369
Juha Tompuri linked this in an other thread yesterday.
Hope you have time to post your pics when ever you can.
With best

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi John:
Yes, I saw that too and that is the one I could not find as I was looking in the wrong place.
I am going to PM Marcus to see if it can be moved to this section as I feel it will get a lot more attention and participation here.
Today is mostly devoted to Christmas shopping for my 3 grown up kids and my 6 grandchildren so I may not start posting until this evening or tomorrow morning.

Hello Raul,
I do not know if it is the same, there are small differences, but this looks like the same vehicle and officer.
Kerry.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi,
This Bedford Kommandeurwagen is not in SS Nordland, the insignia in the front view photo is for SS Wiking with what looks like a regimental commanders flag on its front, the second side view photo shows many detail differences to the vehicle and is carrying a divisional commanders pennant on the front wing.
Was the named officer in the Wiking division before being in the Norland division ?? after all they were all the same unit at one time
cheers spannerman

Yes he was and they were.
SS-Reg. "Nordland" then became SS-Pz.Gren.Reg. 11 "Nordland"/ 5. SS-Pz.Gren.Div. "Wiking".

Hello Bill,Bill Murray wrote:Hi All:
Regarding the last few ID requests, I also think the camionette may be the Primaquatre KZ14, I am just still looking for some detail photos.
The Hotchkiss idea also has merit, again need some better detail photos to look at. The tail lights may be the answer.
The rear shot of a passenger car looks to me to be something American, I am looking.
The last photo, Jose, I am thinking for the moment is a Packard. I see you are on coachbuild.com also and we can both look there. I did not check the last days to see if you got an answer about the Studebaker. If it is not a Packard, next best guess may be a Buick. I am thinking Packard because of the medallion in the middle of the wheel nut cap, Packard's was very distinct. Too bad we don't get really good resolution on a home computer.
Edit: Regarding the possible Renault ID have a look here, a 1931 model Primaquatre. Note the distinct headlamp mounting with the vertical rods, the placement of the crank handle opening and the design of the front fenders/mudguards.
Bill
no luck with the Stude coachbuilder identification.
For the second car, I took the look at the pictures again and my guess:39 Oldsmobile?

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Hans,
at last I could find some time to be proccupied with the questions You put 05 Dec.
Nr. 1: I think like You that it is an Austin K 3
Nr. 2: I think it is a Borgward 3 tonner type G.W., a special version for the engineer companies (Pionierfahrzeug).
Nr. 4: I think it is a Hansa-Lloyd type Merkur IV.
So much for today. The others are really very hard nuts to crack. But I will try.
Regards
Bert
