Re: Vehicle identity requests
I believe that the "J" is actually a capital "I" for "Instandsetzungs", the repair sevction.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
That's a special truck It looks like a post-1941 Renault AHR (4x2 AHR is 5 ton, 1940 versions have the left front window in one piece) but a 6x4 version I'v never seen before. The wood-gas stove seems te be build in in a more profesional way > so probably a batch of them where build.
Hope this helps.
Bye,

Hello to all ; two questions instead one this time................
The picture shows a German motorized column stopped in a ruined town (may be in Poland).....so here goes:
1. what type of vehicles are shown here?
2. meaning of the white "S" painted on the windshield?

Hello Andrej ; thank you very much for your answer.............but seeing the shapes of the radiator and the hood, it looks like more a Funkkraftwagen (Kfz. 17/1) with frame antenna for me................see the second picture in the link below...............

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm,
the truck with the searchlight could be a Crossley IGL. Here a pic of such a truck out of the book "British Military Trucks of World War Two" by Les Freathy.
