Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi photo-war,
I believe the first one is a Ford 3 tonner ca. 1938-1939 (radiator grill partially masked):

Re: Vehicle identity requests
HI,
I believe number 4 is a Einheids PKW Horch.
And number 2 a Opel Blitz is belonging to a communications unit there is a funkmast wagen behind.
Greetings Bert

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Talking about WL-161254, I'll definitely vote for Mercedes V170 Kübel.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Any thoughts about the truck in the background of the first photograph please?
The truck in the foreground and in the second photograph is, I think, a model 1937 Ford BB. Note the Württemburg licence plate on this Organisation Todt truck. The badge on the wing nearest the driver appears to be an eagle above the Olympic rings. The number Sta. 18 is painted on the windscreen. Can anybody explain these please?
John.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
@ photo-war:
#1: it's not a Henschel but the license model Magirus 33 G1
http://www.kfzderwehrmacht.de/Homepage_ ... 33_g1.html
#2: It's an Opel Blitz 3,6-36 S as Kfz. 305 of the Luftwaffe. It has a LC-Koffer. Don't mix it up with the Einheitskoffer of the Army.
Regards, Holger.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi John,
to Your question about the number Sta. 18:
the vehicles of the Organisation Todt were divided in "LKW-Staffeln" (truck sections). So here it is the LKW-Staffel 18.

License plate is French. It has been delivered in the Meurthe et Moselle "département".
As for the car, I do not know ....

Re: Vehicle identity requests
What is the base (3-4 Ton?) truck here? The bonnet louver arrangement is similar but not identical to the MAN M 1 but I really can't ID it.
Cheers,
Max
