Hello John and Kerry
Not directly car related but the uniforms
have me wondering if they are all germans.
Some seem to have an armband on left arm
and these do not to have a breast eagle as far
as I can see.
Any ideas?

The numbering not being on a line, I would
say is optical. Old trick - hold photo horizontal
and view the image again. Numbers seem
ok, plate looks slighly tilted making numbers
look unaligned.

It does look like an ordinary military Stuttgart Kübelwagen to me, so I wonder why it was thought necessary to stencil WH on the mudguard?

Re Waleed's point about the uniforms, see here for RAD men. Note the lack of a breast eagle. In Kerry's photograph, the RAD men don't seem to have the spade badge on their upper left arms. Can you read the armband, Kerry?

Hmm... Closer look and RAD option
could be a real good answer!
Think it says "Deutsche Wehrmacht".
See bottom picture on link - armband
but no RAD shield besides cap.

Thank you for the input.

John, yes RAD with Deutsche Wehrmacht armbands, but still a couple of Heer types, with the breast eagles.

I thought it was a Stuttgart, the only reservations I had were the radiator "propeller" mascot and the slightly curved headlamp mounting bar, details I have not seen in any other photos of the type. But, as always in this hobby, there is no such thing as a "stock" vehicle, there is always a chance of slight variation. And, as you say, why the need for the WH on an already military vehicle.

An ex-RAD example would explain the WH text, curved headlamp bar and civvy street hood emblem.

Hi Sturm 78,

that´s a very interesting pic and vehicle. Thank You very much for posting. It is a Dodge type WK 60, but it was a 50% British-built vehicle. First the American components were shipped to Canada. There they were fitted with Thornton double rear bogies. The complete cab and chassis was then shipped to the UK. On arrival, the trucks were then shipped to Dodge at Kew for any final assembly, and all were fitted with the British-built Gantry Recovery body. The information and the pic out of the book: "British Military Trucks of WW II" by Les Freathy.
