A little belated, but there is a photo in the middle of Inside the Vatican of Pius XII by Harold H. Tittmann Jr., of a Ferdinand withdrawing through Rome on 4 June 1944. It was taken from the walls of the Vatican City State by the son of the US Ambassador.

One wonders if there are any later photos of the type than this, as it must have been one of the last in service.

Cheers,

Sid

The inscription on the side of the conning tower reads:"Self-propelled German gun "Ferdinand",captured in the battle with the crew of the soldiers of the 129th Oryol division"

Hi,

a little correction of the translation:
"Self-propelled German gun "Ferdinand",captured in the battle with the crew by the soldiers of the 129th Oryol division"

Bert, my eyes are going I know but I can't see "Oryolskij" or anything like it on thee side of that Ferdinand. It looks more like "Orlevsoj" to me.
