If that is Barbarossa then why does it have the solid white Poland cross on it ? Also the big hole in the glacis is the access hatch, the damage all appear on the top.bam wrote:the above photo of the destroyed 263, postby Luftflotte2 at 17 Jul 2016 22:54, is a view of Gen.Models command vehicle. He was in it at the start of Barbarossa, and had just got out to confer, when a big HE shell landed on the glacis of the 263, as the big hole shows. Model was unhurt, all the crew of his 263 were annihilated.
ive seen other images of it before...

Re: SDKFZ 263
If u look closely, u will see there's massive damage around the glacis and under the mg, which is where the access Hatch is. The damage is far bigger than the Hatch.
The white cross is odd, agreed. It is a bit washed out, so maybe it had a black outline?
I recall there are pictures of gen Models 263 in either, Panzer wedge or Armored Bears. I haven't got them anymore. Can anyone check?
If it is a Poland era 263,then it's been destroyed in an identical manner to Models.

Re: SDKFZ 263
Another close-up of the same vehicle. Judging by the presence of some elements such as the full antenna - taken before the previous one. Maybe the visible soldiers' uniforms will help shed some light on whether the vehicle was lost in 1939 or 1941.bam wrote: ↑03 Apr 2018, 15:01If u look closely, u will see there's massive damage around the glacis and under the mg, which is where the access Hatch is.
