Interesting. A 75 mm gun on a Panzer 38T chassi! Correct me if I am wrong. Wait maybe a 88 after all... Ok I stick to my initial idea of the 75 mm. Can anyone indicate what version of a 75 mm it is??? Nice picture Mich.

The production reports does mention a Selbstfahrlafetten mit Pak 43, but which exact vehicle this is referring to can't really be told. A report from 1945-04-26 does mention 180 Waffenträger 38 being under construction. The question therefore is wheter all the Selbstfahrlafetten mit Pak 43 were simply Nashorns, and if any Waffenträger 38 were made ready after the report was published.
Quite interestingly, the report also mentions 2,000 field kitchens being under production in Friedrichshafen - one would think that at the time, if the Germans were going to manufacture something, it should be weapons and bullets...

how to identify by viewing
Hello AceAce31 wrote:88mm
This is one of the Ardelt Waffentrager armed with 88mm Pak 43 L/71 gun during tests in Russia after the War ended...
First of all thanks for the correction . I want to know though. Had you seen this vehicle before and knew that this was an 88 mm it had or did you simply identify it by looking at it? If so how did you do this?: by looking at the size of the shell compared to the soldier carrying it or just by looking at the size of the gun on the first picture? I just simply have a hard time indentifying guns when it comes to the 75mm and the 88mm.
Thanks in advance
Greg
