Using the Bundesarchiv

#1

Post by Richard Hargreaves » 18 Jul 2006, 13:35

Hi guys,

I'm off to the Bundesarchiv in Freiburg in a couple of weeks on "holiday" as I research my next couple of books.

Are there any handy tips for first-timers, or anything I should specifically know about in advance? I've had a scour of the website and sent an e-mail to the staff, but it's always useful to have other people's feedback and the like.

Also: any decent bookshops in Freiburg, or ones with a military/historical leaning?

Thanks in advance

http://www.bundesarchiv.de

It's pretty comprehensive and you can have a look at what collections they have; unfortunately the English version was started and seemingly never finished. :-(
