Hello John (or anyone else), I was wondering if you happen to now where the
'Lage West 1944' and 'Lage Frankreich 1944' files originally come from?

I've been trying to find them at the Bundesarchiv website but I seem to be hitting a wall (although I may actually have seen them there in the past). I'm looking into the option of having some digitized at an even higher resolution, but that's a bit difficult if I can't find them in the first place

I scanned my Lage West and Lage Frankreich maps at NARA. They were scanned at 800DPI. You can enlarge the images to 150% and I don't think there is any more detail to be obtained by scanning at a higher DPI.

It works. I accessed it yesterday.
A few months ago after a computer change I mysteriously had no access for a couple weeks. I finally spotted the typo in the server address.
A “ never can connect” situation is probably due to such a configuration problem.
