Re: NARA rolls made digital
The Friedrich Flick trial (RG 238, M891) finally went up, completing the twelve NMT trials. It's at the top of the generic RG 238 search for now:

Re: NARA rolls made digital
One reel of the Goebbels diaries went up the day after the Flick trial. There's not much left from RG 238 other than M1060, on microfilm at least.nickterry wrote: ↑19 Feb 2023 00:03remaining from RG 238 microfilms
- (part of the) Goebbels diaries on 7 reels, lacking a T or M number on the web page about war crimes trial records
- M1278, M1291, M1397, register cards to NI, NG, NOKW docs, 13 reels
- M1137 finding aid for IMT, 73 microfiche cards
also remaining:
- M1060, Selected Records of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East, 1946-1948, 253 rolls.
In the past couple of days, some very belated (1946) CSDIC interrogation reports were added to RG 498. Elsewhere, a lot was added to RG 107 War Department, mainly Civil War-era telegrams.
Microfilms with uploads on 12.1.23 - 1,115,350
Microfilms with uploads on 18.4.23 - 1,118,903 = +3,533 rolls or split rolls

Re: NARA rolls made digital
RG498 CSDIC: I use a lot of these files - the SIR reports on tactical units, and sadly these have not been digitized. However I read a number of the reports available online, and if you are looking into high level intelligence or economic entity information, these might be useful.

Re: NARA rolls made digital
Does anyone know exactly if NARA intends to type the whole 242 series or for some reason has stopped at the subseries already put online? What if there is a timeline somewhere on the web?
Thank you very much

There doesn't seem to be any further planning.
I contacted the archive with a similar question and got the following answer:
Greetings from Hanover/Germany,We unfortunately do not have a date as to when the digitization of the microfilm publications requested will be completed. For updates please check the online catalog at the following links.
T1022 - Records of the German Navy, Received From the United States Naval History Division, 1850-1945 - https://catalog.archives.gov/id/7065546.

After the records are digitized they will be posted to the links listed above.

Re: NARA rolls made digital
Slow incremental progress may be about to resume with RG 242, picking off further very small collections, as with updates earlier this year.
At @USNatArchives in RG 242, placeholders for the descriptive pamphlets of the records of the OT, OKM, Reich Office of Soil Explanation and the Smolensk Oblast Archive went up. In 2022, this was often a prelude to the microfilms going up not long after.

Placeholders visible in the RG 242 search by identifier order

The collections are 7 reels each for OT and Reich Office, 8 reels for the OKM series (not the same as T1022), and circa 75 reels for the Smolensk Oblast Archive.
I will be tweeting updates on digitisation at NARA and the Bundesarchiv, and any other new sources, at https://twitter.com/historiannick - but will also post here in the respective threads.

New @USNatArchives - RG 59, M1284, Records of the Department of State Relating to the Problems of Relief and Refugees in Europe Arising from World War II and Its Aftermath, 1938-1949 (70 reels) = 840.48

Re: NARA rolls made digital
@USNatArchives added a whopping 16,797 microfilms tonight, mostly from the 1950 census. But RG 242 finally received updates of +50 films:
T76 OT x 7 reels,
T401,
T608 OKM x 6 reels,
M129,
M960 Moltke's papers, and
T88 x 4 reels - part of the Smolensk oblast archive
https://twitter.com/historiannick/statu ... 2522773504
Link to RG 242 in descending order (most recent uploads first):
https://catalog.archives.gov/search-wit ... aId%3Adesc
Since 12.1.23, NARA has added 41,092 microfilms or parts thereof, generating a search result for 'microfilm': that is the raw increase in 'available online' results for microfilm. The 1950 census (RG 29) makes up the bulk of this, RG 242 has increased by +80 reels, RG 238 received several hundred reels in this time-frame, and a few RG 59 microfilm series, plus some microfilms from the JFK assassination investigations (House commitee of the 1970s).

Re: Gaps in NARA rolls made digital
Hello,
I've noticed an anomaly between T-312, Rolls 348 and 349 (covering AOK 9 KTB between July and December 1944). Roll 348 ends on frame 7923196. Roll 349 starts on frame 7923487. So the question is, where are frames 3197 to 3486? I know they exist somewhere - there are telephone conversations between General d.Pz.Tr. von Vormann and Heinz Reinefarth recorded on "T-312, Roll 349, Frame 792312" so it would fall within the missing frames. Does anyone know where these would/could be found?
Would appreciate it - thanks!

Re: NARA rolls made digital
Hello Dough
I've looked at the two reels and can't confirm the missing frames. Only 2 frames are missing between T312 R348 and R349. Eiinaml new folder begins and table of contents are missing. Please reload the two roles here:
