The New 'Free NARA Rolls' List

I have reorganized the list to make it easier to maintain and easier to add new material (there are about 20 more rolls than in June 2016).

The files here are about 20% of the NARA Wehrmacht files that are digitally available. If you are a researcher and looking for more material, contact me and I will try and help. If you have rolls not on the list and want to share them contact me (please clearly state if you want to share on this list or not). The main limiting factor for posting new material is a lack of space (there is only 180 Gb space left on my OneDrive).

Indexes to the NARA material can be found at Sturmpanzer or Maparchive. If you don't find what you want on this list, check J. C. Calvins List. It is larger but probably slower to download from.

T311/263 won't download - the other files in the sequence download fine, but this one doesn't, maybe due to its size (3.96GB)

It turns out this was previously uploaded and I downloaded it before, however T311/263 has about 100 frames missing from circa frame 1000 to frame 1100. Any info there? The documents I specifically wanted are after frame 1100, so it's not the end of the world if these weren't included in your original scans.

It turns out this was previously uploaded and I downloaded it before, however T311/263 has about 100 frames missing from circa frame 1000 to frame 1100. Any info there? The documents I specifically wanted are after frame 1100, so it's not the end of the world if these weren't included in your original scans.

Same with my copy - missing frames 1001 - 1100. Many of the rolls are missing frames. They get passed around and in one of the transfers a few frames are missed. Impossible to know who might have the complete copy. There is also the possibility that the complete roll never has been copied.

I am still uploading material to the list. My one drive still has about 180 Gb free (1.02 Tb of NARA material). The HD I have at home has about 2.5 Tb and it might have about 25% of the rolls on Mori's List. When my OneDrive is full that will be all the material I upload, unless I can get donation for about $150 dollars a year (that is what Microsoft Office + 1 Tb Cloud costs), which give another 1.2 Tb Cloud space.

Thanks for the clarification regarding that roll; the sheer volume of what you're making available for free outweighs the minor irritations of a few gaps here and there.

Even though there might not be huge numbers downloading reels, I'd hope there would be several people willing to contribute to this.

Can anyone download the larger files, say over 1 Gb? It appears that there may be a problem.

Yes I've downloaded T78 R907, which is over 3 GB.
On the other hand, I can't download files like T78 R269 or T78 407, the download doesn't even start.

These problems aside, I like the new platform - thanks for the service in any case!

No idea why some rolls can't be downloaded. If you are having trouble downloading a roll PM me with your Email. I can send the file via WeTransfer instead.
