Searching for BIOS Final Report 142

#1

Post by c-red » 05 Mar 2017, 20:17

Hi there. I'm searching for additional listings of CIOS/BIOS Reports beside the "known" Listings at fischer-tropsch, cdvandt and the Harriman List.

-> Special interest at the moment is on BIOS Final Report 142.

Anyone out there who has an idea where to find a copy to buy/exchange/...? :|

Any chance to get a tip where to find CIOS/BIOS Reports in general, preferred as a digital copy to share (and maybe authentic originals from that time to sell)? Maybe anybody beside myself is interested in some of these reports too?

The obvious places to look for B.I.O.S. reports are in british archives/collections (TNA, IWM etc).

I have over 5000 pages of B.I.O.S.-indexes/lists (+ a lot of reports), but almost all of the lists are in alphabetical order - often without reference to report-number, so it's hard to look for the one you're asking about...

Do you have a title (or at least a topic) for "Final report 142"?

Here are some of my B.I.O.S. indexes/lists:
• B.I.O.S. Group 2 - HEC Exploitation Centre of German documents, Accession lists, Part 1 (1946) (633 pages)
• B.I.O.S. Group 2 - HEC Exploitation Centre of German documents, Accession lists, Part 2 (1946) (174 pages)
• B.I.O.S. Index (selected B.I.O.S. Evaluation Reports) (2 pages)
• B.I.O.S. Index (selected B.I.O.S. Final Reports) (8 pages)
• B.I.O.S. Index (selected B.I.O.S. Miscellaneous Reports - expanded list) (2 pages)
• B.I.O.S. Index (selected B.I.O.S. Miscellaneous Reports) (1 page) )
• B.I.O.S. Index (selected B.I.O.S. Overall Reports) (1 page)
• B.I.O.S. Index (selected B.I.O.S. Reports - supplement) (35 pages)
• B.I.O.S. Microfilm of Original German Documents Evacuated by F.I.A.T. (1948) (87 pages)
• B.I.O.S. Working Party. Classification of Accession lists and Halstead Exploitation Centre documents (1948) (165 pages)
• British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee - Operating procedure for evacuation of equipment from the U.S. zone (1946) (88 pages)
• British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee (operational). Field Intelligence Agency miscellaneous (technical) reports (1946) (348 pages)
• British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee Alphabetical Subject Index of C.I.O.S., B.I.O.S., F.I.A.T. (U.S.) and J.I.O.A. Final Reports (1946) (597 pages)
• British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee Reports (135 pages)
• British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee Reports (45-46) (356 pages)
• British Intelligence Objectives Sub-Committee Reports 1945-46 (233 pages)
• Disposal of B.I.O.S. Equipment (1946) (615 pages)
• Handing over records of equipment evacuated from Germany through B.I.O.S. and 'T' force channels (1948) (66 pages)
• List of C.I.O.S., B.I.O.S., F.I.A.T. & J.I.O.A. Reports (42 pages)
• Subject matter alphabetical index of reports on german technical information prepared by teams which have visited Germany - B.I.O.S., C.I.O.S. and A.S.A.T.M. - Reports 1-146 (1946) (1605 pages)

That indexes only are more than 5000 pages long is just incredible. How big are the BIOS reports themselves?

What publications have leveraged this material, and to what purpose?

You're right. Solution was that simple. They could help me out with an answer to my question about this report. :)

But many thanks to all of you for supporting!
