BA / MA digital files
Dear all, just noticed thanks to a post on 12oclock that BA has finally started to upload digital scans of their files, the quality is good and there are no watermarks.
Here is a brief inventory of what is available but there is already much more online :
https://www.bundesarchiv.de/DE/Content/ ... cationFile
https://www.bundesarchiv.de/DE/Content/ ... aende.html
Just use the Invenio search engine and check the option to display digitized results only.
All the best, Mihai

Checking these, I realize how many more there are at BAMA vs. on NARA microfilms. I had always thought that NARA microfilmed ca. 90% of documents. Actually, they filmed very few, probably 20%. At least that's what this sample says.Piet Duits wrote: ↑01 Oct 2020 21:41Almost the complete collection of the RH 10 (Generalinspekteur der Panzertruppen) is online too
The gaps in the NARA numbering are not "lost files", as I thought.

Mori,
According to the staff at the Bama it's even worse: they are convinced from top to bottom that the Nara still has files that they did not return to Germany, causing "lost files" in their collection. A nice example of this are the T78 rolls with names of officers KIA. The Bama say they don't have the originals.

Where is it possible to get BAMA files expect BAMA itself. I've been looking for NS31 files but can't find them anywhere.

By asking here, or on the equivalent German forum (https://www.forum-der-wehrmacht.de/).balkanguy44 wrote: ↑06 Oct 2020 12:19Where is it possible to get BAMA files expect BAMA itself. I've been looking for NS31 files but can't find them anywhere.
There are way fewer BAMA files around than NARA. This is because BAMA has only allowed visitors to make their own copies for a couple of years, while their copy service was overpriced. Meanwhile, people have got copies from NARA for 15 years or so. If judging by what's on my hard drive, more than 40% of NARA microfilms of the T311-315 lot are available.

Re: BA / MA digital files
Hello,
can anybody suggest a way of downloading the digitalized BAMA files that is more fast than saving the hard print of the screen?
Thank you in advance

Re: BA / MA digital files
So far, I haven't found a better way.
That said, if you are into manually saving some of the folders, we should coordinate efforts because I already processed many.

I have been downloading several Archiv Signature as well, saving the images themselves. 32 so far, not all yet complete.

It appears that Archiv Signatur RH 10/244 refuses to be downloaded. Has anyone been able to get this record?

Do you have to be logged in to view digital files online? When I click on the digital record link ("Digitalisat anzeigen") I just get an eternal loading page.
