Hello,

I am seeking more information about my grandmother who traveled from Norway in 1944 and married a German soldier named Otto Boy on April 29, 1944. They divorced in December 1944. From August 1944 to March 1945 she was in Landeskinderheim, Gusterow, Mecklenburg. Then she returned to Norway (alone).

Any leads as to how I can find out more about her marriage, divorce and life in Germany during this time would be mot appreciated. I would also like to search birth records if possible, to see if she may have had a child while there.

Dear Albert, thank you very much! That may very well be him (I think it is the same person? at least same birth date..). I guess it may be hard to find much details online. I went on Invenio and tried other searches but didn;t find much (though I'm still learning how it works).

For what it is worth, this is Otto Boy's (or Otto Paul Gustav Johannes Boy to use his full name) birth and baptism registry entry as found on Ancestry.com:
Father - Karl Fritz Heinrich Boy
Mother - Berta Karoline Sofia Maria Schlomann
Baptism Parish: Güstrow Dom, Deutschland, Mecklenburg-Schwerin (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern)
Baptism Date: 16. Apr 1911

You can search also in the Arolsen Archive on your grandmother's name. This archive contains documents about non-Germans in Germany during 1940-1945. https://collections.arolsen-archives.org/en/search

If she married in Germany there could be an document in this online archive.
