Heer daily reports

#1

Post by igbns » 27 Jan 2023, 15:40

Hello all,

Recently i visited old Christoph Awender's WW2 day by day site in Wayback Machine from 2007 ( https://web.archive.org/web/20071013005 ... byday.com/ ) , and there is section "Daily reports" divided in Heereslage, Luftlage and Seelage reports for every day (until May 1941).

Now my question is: What source is used for Heereslage (NARA rolls or book)?

For Luftlage i guess it is Lagebericht from rolls T77 R916, R917,...
For Seelage i guess it is from book "Kriegstagebuch der Seekriegsleitung 1939-1945" (maybe there are some NARA rolls for this but i dont know).

Regarding Heereslage there are many Tagesmeldungen or Lagenberichte or Tagesberichte found in rolls from various units (corps, armies, army groups or OKH), but is there some single source that specifically collected only this Heer reports?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The OKW collected those reports and compiled Lageberichte. The Bundesarchiv has some of these documents under the RW 4 category.

Thanks TH, there are tons of information at RW 4 and it's all digitalised.
