Id. aerial bombs
Re: Id. aerial bombs
Judging from the dark stripe on the tail cone and partially visible marking "...250 S..." in the 1st picture, I'd say it's SD 250 Stg.

It seems that 250-500kg bombsused both rounded tail and normal tail..
Do you know which subvariants used one or another?

Re: Id. aerial bombs
Only the SC 500 J and all the SD 500 used drum stabilizers (while only the SD 500 A was similar in shape to SC 250/500 bombs). All the SC 250, SD 250 and all other SC 500 variants had cruciform stabilizers.
Thus the bomb in the 2nd picture is of the SC 500 J type.

Re: Id. aerial bombs
There are SD 500 A in the upper picture (plus apparently SC 250 in the background), the lower one seems to be an SC 1800 (although the yellow stripe appears very dark in this case, what is however not impossible with an orthochromatic emulsion).
Re: Id. aerial bombs
Thank you for your answer, Grzesio
It is quite difficult to identify the different models of german bombs. They are very similar....
Any idea about the images posted on 01 May ? SC50 or SC70

Re: Id. aerial bombs
There was no SC 70.
SD 50 are in both these pictures. They can be easily recognised from the SC 50 and SD 70, as there's clearly visible edge of the warhead fairing around the body, just after the middle of the cylindrical section; also the fins do not reach the forward edge of the tail cone.
Sadly, SC 50, S Be 50 and SD 70 are practically identical.

Therefore the bombs of the image posted on 08 April are SC50 or SD70, is it not ??

Re: Id. aerial bombs
They are most probably SC 50.
SD 70 were introduced in 1942 only, while I'm not sure when S Be 50 were fielded.

Re: Id. aerial bombs
ZC 50 A weiss, of course.
White tips indicating smoke colour and rectangular covers of smoke charges on the body are very distinctive for training bombs.
