Re: German observation and barrage balloons
I wish there are stories and reports about these German observers who went up in these balloons during WWII. The reports of observers who went up in German observation balloons during WWI,I had read about them in WWI aviation books.

Hi all,
Another image from Ebay:
It would be interesting to know the organization and assignment of personnel and material of these units, as well as to what type of artillery units were assigned in campaign....
Somebody ?

Hi all,
Any idea about this ?
I would say an observation balloon with engine in nacelle and control surfaces at rear....

A balloon type unknown to me. Among its unique characteristics is a propeller, perhaps partly enclosed, attached to the man carrying basket. The rear structures cannot be control surfaces. They are not aerodynamic shapes. But there appears to be a light colored object resting on the horizontal support, or the light and shadow only suggests a shape/object.
