Hi everyone, recently I've been looking for information on a very particular Bf109. It was a Bf109 G-6, W.Nr 20451; assigned to 9./JG52 and flew as the Yellow 7, and was the doppelwinkel of its squadron, as far as I can tell. If anyone happens to have any photographs of this aircraft it would be hugely appreciated, though I've never found any no matter how hard I've looked.
Apparently it was piloted by Hermann Wolf until August 15, 1943 when he went on leave, at which point an Alfred Uhl piloted her and crashed on August 17, and went MIA, apparently after combat with either a LaGG-3 or an La-5 (I've seen sources say both).
Admittedly, I am far from an expert in much of this, and as I don't speak German reading primary sources is difficult for me. What I'm really curious about is that according to this web page, this 109 was a G-6 Trop, meaning it was tropicalized... was this common on the Eastern Front, or do you think this source is wrong about this particular bit?
I'm mostly interested as I've been trying to do research on this aircraft and her primary pilot Hermann Wolf, apparently an ace who survived the war with 57 kills, but finding info on the pilot beyond that has been difficult too.
One more question, sorry if I'm getting ahead of myself -- is there any way to read the locations on the luftwaffe.cz website? I've tried searching it up myself to no avail, I assume it just uses German wartime grid data or something but I'm not sure. Again, I'm far from an expert... any and all help would be appreciated!

Hi,
Regarding the grids, here are a couple of useful links: http://www.bergstrombooks.elknet.pl/bc- ... uadrat.htm, and http://www.bergstrombooks.elknet.pl/bc- ... ffemap.htm. Those beginning with 49 are in the Stalingrad area (see this map: http://maps.mapywig.org/m/German_maps/s ... d27909.jpg)
Wolf only flew Bf 109 G-6 WNr. 20451, marked '7 + ', on 14 and 15 August 1943.
Cheers,
Andrew A.
