It's rather not the SD 1700, as the body is cylindrical, and the tail is too short.
The SC 1800 seems to be a perfect match.

Hi Grzesio

Well, I suppose you are right. The fins also seem shorter than on the SD1700...

On the other hand, another image from Ebay. I think SC500 bombs

No details can be seen, but I think you are right.
It even seems, the bombs in the 2nd row are smaller, so we could have SC 500 in front and SC 250 behind them?

It is possible but it is difficult to ensure. Being further away they could seem smaller due to the effect of distance

Could this bomb be a SD1700 ??
Depends on the lenght I guess (compare it with the width of the He 177 wing?): The SC-1000 (2,8 metre), SD-1700 (3,3 metre) or SC-1800 (3,5 metre) are pretty much identical in apparance otherwise.

Well, SD 1700 and SC 1800 are similar in their layout, but pretty easy to tell apart though - e.g. tapered body of the SD 1700 is quite distinctive.

Hi all,

A rare image of a German bomb where you can clearly see the markings.
I think a SC1800 bomb marked as C1800B

Yes, a very nice picture! We can see bomb type marking, HE code (105 - Trialen 105) and fuze code of ElAZ (28) B/2.
But there's one interesting thing. Bombs filled with Trialen 105 were intended for use against merchant ships only and they usually had "Trialen" added to their designation - e.g. SC 1800 Trialen (plus they were marked with yellow ship silhouettes on the tail plus inscription "Nur gegen Handelsschiffe" on the body sides). But here we have apparently a "SC 1800 B" - I wonder if it wasn't an early designation of Trialen filled bombs?
