A new book by Robert Forsyth titled Me 163 vs Allied Heavy Bombers Northern Europe 1944–45 will be coming out next year, and it will shed further light on the rate of effectiveness of the Me 163 against USAAF and RAF bombers.

Anything? A rather broad concept. Perhaps a better question would be: The Me 163 as opposed to nothing? I would like to add an observation. The common thinking is that, in isolation, the Me 163 did not achieve a winning result or, put another way, inflict significant losses to the enemy. The fact is that it was one more component to overall German air defense.

After reading the account of the British pilot flying one, building a replica is on my "to do" list after winning the lottery
Yes! On the same list for me as well...though I am leaning towards the latter version with retractable landing gear (though I don't think it looks as cool, LOL)
