I have a few photos of Admiral von Arnauld boarding a Me-108 in Feb.1941. This aircraft is probably the one on board which he was killed at Paris Le Bourget airport on 24.2.1941. Part of registration can be seen on the body :
.. + NJ
and number (maybe partial) top of the tail : 2024
Can anybody among you good people identify it and possibly have more details on the circumstances of the crash.
TIA
Yves

Re: Seeking details on a specific Me-108
The aircraft in which submarine ace Admiral Lothar von Arnauld was killed when it crashed on take-off while preparing to fly to Berlin was not a Bf 108, but a Junkers W.34 radial-engine airliner. More info on the crash of the W.34 that killed von Arnauld is found here:Yves D wrote: ↑21 Mar 2007, 09:52I have a few photos of Admiral von Arnauld boarding a Me-108 in Feb.1941.
