ABB 500 containers filled with some 133 B 1 E bombs.
ABB 500 was a derivative of the Streubrand C 500 bomb (which was filled with tiny incendiary cans) - it was opened in flight by an explosive cord running around its body, ignited by a ZtZ 89 B time fuse.

One account I read of operation citadel said that it was the first time the Luftwaffe used cluster bombs. Is that correct?

Yes, correct. 900L german drop tanks. The tail fin and the partial camo are the indicator signs. Seen here in their transport cages.

Hi,
not German bombs for sure since these had fuses on the side of the bomb body, not in the nose or at the back.
Regards,
Rudi.
