Dear Gentlemen,
I know that there were the Bf 109's variants A-H, K, T and probably W. Were there any I- or J-prototypes? Thank you in advance.
Cheers,
Kim

Re: Messerschmitt Bf 109 I or J?
Hello!
A sort of explanation is given here (scroll down the page):

IIRC, letter I was not used in order to avoid confusion with Roman number I.
Best regards, Aleks

The explanation as to why we haven't seen any variant I for the Bf-109 is correct.
As far as a variant J is concerned, this was a proposed Spanish licence-built version, but it was not proceeded with.

Messerschmitt allocated the Bf 109J designation to the proposed license-built Bf 109G-2 with one HS 89-12Z.
