Re: Luftwaffe emblems photos
Did Luftwaffe pilots wear squadron emblems on their caps (or uniforms) like Kriegsmarine or special Army units did?
For example, where these sewn or pinned on?
I have one like this that was recently dig up from a pilots bunker in Latvia, but I have no pictorial or otherwise evidence that these where used on uniforms and where. And its true that some of the JG26 did temporarily get stationed there in Latvia on the Eastern Front.
Im thinking it was very rare non-standard field mod and done when deployed to support another squadron/grouppen as did the JG26 to assist the JG54. It would be a way to show differentiation and squadron pride. Just a connecture based upon where my Mickey showed up on the Osti Front.
We all know the JG26 and others used Mickey on their aircraft

So what im asking for is help in showing pictorial evidence that Luftwaffe pilots did use squadron emblems or talismans on their uniforms as did other branches of the military.

Re: Luftwaffe emblems photos
Heres a picture of the JG26 Luftwaffe Mickey unit emblem and colar tab that I restored (I don't like to keep in in its ugly find condition) and placed amongst some of my other collectables. The Mickey emblem would be placed on the side of the cap like any other arm of the forces would do.
