were rotated through JG 51 as the 15th staffel. Consecutively numbered by Spanish as the 1, 2, 3 and 4 ' Blue '
Squadrons. September 1941-January 1942. Bf 109E & F.
The emblem is based on that used by the leading Spanish Nationalist fighter ace Joaquin García Morato.
The traditional emblem continued to be used in modern Spanish combat units, and was applied to aircraft such
as the F-86 Sabre, Mirage III, and Mirage F-1.
