Hi everyone,

I am trying to ID a Transport-Gruppe that served with Luftflotte 1 in the Baltics in June - July 1941. Does anyone know who they were ?

Thanks in advance

Oquaig,
".......that served with Luftflotte 1......."

23 Jun 41: assigned to Luftflotte 1 and ordered to Gutenfeld/East Prussia to transport ammunition, fuel and rations to Panzergruppe 4 advancing toward Daugavpils and Pskov, and evacuate wounded on the return flights.1
28 Jun 41: Ju 52 crashed at Kedainiai/C Lithuania due to pilot error, 40%.
10 Jul 41: began using Kaunas/Lithuania as a forward airfield as the German advance drove rapidly east.
16 Jul 41: 2 men from the Gruppe WIA at Pskov while flying supplies into the airfield there, which had been taken by the Germans just a few days before.
28 Jul 41: 2. Staffel Ju 52 ran out of fuel and force landed near Pskov.
1 Aug 41: Gruppe moved forward from Kaunas to Daugavpils and then to Ostrov on 11 August to support the advance toward Lake Ilmen and Leningrad.2

Flugbereitschaft Gen.Kdo. Fliegerkorps I
Formation, History and Losses. (Feb 40? - Apr 45?)
Date of formation and disbandment unknown.
17 Apr 40: struck by a landing Do 17 at Fp. Koblenz-Karthaus, W 34 @ 30% and a Bf 108 @ 4%.1
22 Jun 40: Bf 108 shot up after landing near Vannes, 80%, 2 wounded.

6 Jul 41: Ju 52 (BL+PA) shot up and force landed near Ostrov, 100%, 4 MIA.
6 Jul 41: Ju 52 (BL+RA) shot up and force landed near Rossitten, 20%, 1 injured.
22 Jan 42: based at Gostkino at Luga.

There was also a Flugbereitschaft Luftflotte 1, but it appears that this did not come into existence until 1942.

HTH (hope that helps)!!

L.
