The Fritz X was arguably the first precision-guided bomb ever used in combat. Guidance for the Fritz X was provided by a Kehl-Straßburg FuG 203/230 MCLOS system. The abbreviation "PC" in PC 1400 stood for Panzersprengbombe, Cylindrisch ("cylindrical armor-piercing bomb"), while the number "1400" denoted the weight of the Fritz X in kilograms (1,400 kg).

The Fritz X was arguably the first precision-guided bomb ever used in combat.
I think, the Hs 293 A was earlier - it was used for the first time on August 25, 1943, achieving first kill on August 27 (HMS Egret), while the Fritz X was used for the first time on August 29, sinking its first victim (Roma) on September 9.
The PC 1400 in the designation refers to the warhead only (made of the PC 1400 AP bomb body), the complete Fritz X was around 1600 kg heavy.
