I'm trying to find info about the fightings led by 18. Lw.FeldDiv. in 1944; the only info I have is that the division was destroyed in Mons Pocket in Sept.1944.
In particular, Lw.Jäg.Rgt. 35 and 48
Thank you in advance
18. Luftwaffen-Feld-Division

Sorry for my late reply : 18. LFD fought on Seine river, in the so called "Mantes bridgehead", western of Paris, from 20 august 44 ; she was destroyed there in 8 days.In reality, only very few members were kept in Mons pocket.

Joda,
If you read French, there is a lot of information about the division's role in the fighting around the Mantes bridgehead in several books by Bruno Renoult. See B. Renoult and G. Havelange, 'La Tete de Pont de Mantes, la Bataille du Vexin - Memorial des Combats de la Liberations' (self-published, Magnanville 2000; 352pp.); and three books by Renoult in his 'Guerre en Ile de France' series (Vols. III [2008], IV [2009] and V [2009], all co-written with James West).
Also, primary sources exist. There are documents from the division in I SS Pz Corps records for August 1944, and I seem to recall that the main war diary for the division also survives, at least for the period that concerns you. I'd have to check that with files I have at work, but I think so.
See also many interesting prisoner interrogation and other G-2 records in sources available online digitally at the McCormick digital research archive. This is the online depository for a mass of US 1 ID records. Luckily, the archive includes documents copied to 1 ID by many other US (and some British) units. August 1944 documents are full of details of numbers of prisoners captured for many German formations, and other material relating to their order of battle and operations, and this includes some 18 Luftwaffe Field Division material.
Sorry, this is a late response, but possibly of some use.
