What exactly is a Flam 250, I mean the name is evocative of some sort of incendiary device but what kind ?

The Flam 250 series was designed as an anti-personnel weapon. It was a less effective German version of the Allied napalm bomb. It used a filler of 30% crude oil and 70 % gasoline with no thickening agent as was used in the Allied version. The Flam 250 was used in the Crimean assault by the Germans and caused some speculation of it being a Fuel-Air weapon . This it is not, it is a flame weapon. The drawings below are from the excellent book "GERMAN AIR DROPPED WEAPONS TO 1945 by Wolfgang Fleischer Page 164. I highly recommend this book, it is well done, well researched and reasonably priced. I have no connection to the author.

Correction, 30% crude oil and 70% gasoline.

Does anyone have info on the use of the Flam 250 at Rotterdam, May 14 1940? There is circumstantial information that a staffel of KG 4 may have been seconded to KG 54 for this raid.
