As we've already seen, the claim that the He 177 V38 was intended to carry an experimental nuclear weapon has been debunked by Junkers company documents (cited by Uwe Jack and a book about the Junkers Ju 287 by Horst Lommel) showing that the He 177 V38 was used to test the bomb bay for the planned production Ju 287 and that another He 177 was modified for testing the Ju 287's landing gear.
