I found this article "Arado is Ostasian" from http://monsun-uboats.blogspot.com. It's in German and I don't read German. I what to know all about the Arado Ar 196 floatplanes' operations over the Pacific Ocean during WWII in English language please. Well I did know that Oberleutnant z. See Ulrich Horn and Oberleutnant z. See Konrad Hoppe were from the German raider "Michel" and they flew Ar 196 floatplanes in Japanese markings from a Japanese naval base which I don't know the name of it. As I recall,Konrad Hoppe was a German Cross in Gold holder. I need more information about those two German naval aviators as well please. Thank you.

Ulrich Horn was promoted to the rank of Oberleutnant on February 14, 1944. Aviation officer Oberleutnant Konrad Hoppe was promoted to the rank of Kapitaenleutnant after arriving in Japan, and was placed to disposal for service by Navy HQ. Among his new duties were supervising the building of the base at Penang, Malaysia, and later also at Surabaya, on the northern coast of Java in Indonesia. Therefore, the Japanese naval base from which the two Ar 196s piloted by Horn and Hoppe operated was located in Penang.
