Ju 52 gunship photos?

#1

Post by Dili » 23 Jul 2019, 16:39

Seems there was a small batch of Ju 52 employed in Mediterranean that were armed with a MG151 turret besides the usual MG 17, plus the it appears the basket machine gun that was employed in bomber version in 1930's was returned.

I am looking for photos to confirm this drawing i have found on the web.

Ju 52 ND+AN was at Tarnewitz airfield from 1940 to 1944 serving as a testbed. Id did not look anything like this drawing.

A picture it's hard to find, because only 12 aircrafts were converted as escort gunship during its service with KG z.b.V. 1 in Crete.

ND+AN is a Stammkennzeichen rather than a Verbandskennzeichen, so does not identify a unit. It was applied as a radio code when the aircraft left the factory. The archived LEMB Stammkennzeichen Database provides no information on this aircraft other than it was a Ju 52/3m
