There must had been plenty of veterans of the Austro-Hungarian Army and Naval Air Forces of WWI to serve in the Luftwaffe in WWII. Well I never heard of fighter pilots of the Austro-Hungarian Army and Naval Air Forces of WWI flying fighter planes of the Luftwaffe during air fights of WWII. I wonder if that such were the case back then?

Re: Austro-Hungarian Military Pilots Flying With The Luftwaffe During WWII
Hi Edward,
Given the twenty-year time lag between the two wars, the youngest would have to have been around 40, which is rather old for flight crew. They would far more likely be in command or administrative roles. Furthermore, Austria had no air force in the 1920s in which they could keep up their flying experience. Even its commander over 1934-38, Alexander Löhr, had not been a pilot in WWI.
Cheers,
Sid.
