Hello,
This replacement squadron was deployed in Bucarest-Pipera as of May 1941, with its two flights (one for fighter purpose - Einsatzstaffel - the other as a school unit - Schulstaffel). It was deployed on Mizil airfield between June 19th and July 4th, 1941, before coming back to Pipera to protect the Romanian oilfield area.
Do you know how many Bf 109E these two flights fielded (especially the Einsatzstaffel)?

In a more general way, what was the purpose of an Ergänzung unit: replacement pool? Training? Conversion on a new type of fighter (Bf 109E to Bf 109F)?
