1 Feb 1939 - 31 May 1939: General der Flieger Max Mohr

12 Feb 1940 - 10 May 1940: General der Flieger Wilhelm Wimmer
20 May 1940 - 30 Sep 1940: Generalleutnant Wilhelm Süssmann (appointed commander of 7th Flieger Division on 1 October 1940)
1 Oct 1940 - 20 Jan 1941:

Thank you, Larry. That would mean that the date I have for Süssmann's appointment to command 7th Flieger Division is incorrect. I will dig deeper into that.

AJK: the date the Luftwaffenpersonalamt ordered his change in assignment, the effective date of this change and the date he actually walked into Stab/7. Fliegerdivision, signed in and assumed command could all be different dates. From 1 Oct 40 to 21 Jan 41 he may have been convalescing from a chronic illness, on special assignment serving as the temporary or acting Kommandeur of another unit, etc. The possibilities are nearly endless. To get to the finite bottom of this, you may have to order a copy of his personnel records from BA-MA Freiburg.
