Were the Germans aware of the Gloster Meteor jet fighter and, if so, what did they know?
For instance, were they ever aware that the Meteor was deployed in the Low Countries in 1945?
Many thanks,
Sid

From Sharks of the Air: Willy Messerschmitt and How He Built the World's First Operational Jet Fighter by James Neal Harvey (page 139):
Willy Messerschmitt, in his race to introduce the Me-262 as the first operational jet, received disturbing news. Added to the pressure to prove his aircraft superior to the Heinkel 280, it was recently reported by German Intelliegence that in England, on 5 March 1943, the Gloster Meteor, powered by two Halford H1 turbojets, had made its maiden flight.
