General map showing the locations of the Luftwaffe in the East in 1941

Post by Der_Forscher » 10 Sep 2021 20:38

Hello Guys,

I am looking for plans showing the location of the Luftlotte during Unternehmen Barbarossa (until the end of 1941). I mean something similar to this: https://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/de/ ... ect/zoom/9 - this is very informative and clear, unfortunately to my knowledge something like this only came out for Army Group North. Does anyone have a tip?

Thanks a lot,
Der Forscher :)

The Generalstab d.Luftwaffe Abteilung Ia published just such a map either daily or almost daily that showed the deployment location and Iststärke of Luftwaffe units on all fronts throughout the war. It was entitled: Aufmarsch der fliegende Verbände (geheime Kommandosache - (Chef Sachen). Most unfortunately, only a handful of these survived the war, the rest being destroyed. Those that survived begin with 12.2.44 and end with 27.2.45. These are at BA-MA Freiburg under Signatur Kart 40.
