Has it been hacked?

Has been offline for several days.

Hi,

TOCH has had some serious issues.

I last heard, via a third party, a few days ago that Ruy Horta (the owner) was waiting for his Web Hosts support team to contact him.

When I attempted to connect using Firefox I received an error indicating a database connection issue - others have received different error responses.
Best Regards

This was posted on the RAFCommands Forum

To Twelve O’Clock High members,

According to Ruy Horta, TOCH's founder and administrator, there has been a serious corruption of the site's database. He cannot make any predictions about when or if he can fix it.

My own experience was there was no problem around 0800 British Summer Time on Wednesday 22 September but by about 1030 all I got was error messages

Please pass this information on to anyone who asks. I’m sorry not to have more positive news at the moment.

Hi Guys,

I hope 12 O'Clock High survives this, along with its invaluable database. It is too good to lose.

Which leads to the question: Does AHF back up its database?

Sid.

Hi,

This is Ed West, a frequent poster to 12 O'Clock High. I would like a recommendation to a different but related site.

TIA,
Ed

Hi Rudi,

Good to hear from you. The LRG is not accepting new members at this time so I'll try the other site.

Thanks and regards,
Ed

Hi Ed -

Increasingly, it appears TOCH will not be coming back. On the recommendation of one of the most favored original members who is a close personal friend of one of the managers at TOCH, I sent said manager a very nice e-mail politely asking for whatever amplification he could provide. It has been nearly a week and no reply. And I've been an active member there since 2000 with a total of 7,000+ posts under two different screen names. So things do not look promising. :(

Hi Larry,

Here we see an example of what may be a bad sign for all internet forums. Without a dedicated, timed backup to a secure device/cloud location, decades of research can be lost. I still have some hope and will not speculate. I will continue where I can. My best to you and yours.
