I recall the Do 217 serving in France/Italy/Med area and as NF in Germany but very limited to no service in the East.
For some reason they preferred Ju 88 and He 111 there. I assume the Do 217 as rather big medium bomber required good runways which were rare in the east.

Best I can tell from perusing Osprey Combat Aircraft 139 Dornier Do 217 Units of World War II, by Chris Goss, no Luftwaffe bomber units operated Do 217 on the eastern front.
1. to 4. Nachtaufklarungsstafflen were operating the Do 217 reconnaissance version on the eastern front.
And some Nachtjagdgeschwader that had the Do 217 night fighter version also operated from time on the eastern front
