This was my grandfathers. John Pilecki

He died when my mom was a young girl.

We don’t know much about this.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

798th AAA AW Battalion I’m guessing? Some kind of chart/marker for downed enemy aircraft.

Thanks I’m advance,
-Billy

Hello Billygk25,

This is a U.S. Army unit. We don't do U.S. Army here, just Axis air units, particularly the German Luftwaffe. If you will send me your e-mail address by PM (Private Message) I will send you some information on the 798th AAA Battalion taken from Stanton, Shelby L. Order of Battle U.S. Army, World War II. Novato (CA): Presidio Press, 1984. ISBN: 0-89141-195-X. Hb (oversize). Dj. 620p. Illus. Unit insignia in color photos and b/w dwgs. Tables. Appendices. Sources.
