Cathcart Michael WIGHT-BOYCOTT claim

#1

Post by LioG » 19 Jan 2023, 19:09

Hello,

I am trying to find any info (WrNr/unit) about the Ju 188 that Wight-Boycott Cathcart (25 Sqn)
shot down on the night of 26/27 September 1944 40m E Harwich.

I cannot find any Luftwaffe loss according to this incident.

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

An educated guess would be a Ju 188 from 3.(F)/122 or 1.(F)/120.

But if you want to be sure, I suggest you go to this website and ask your question there:

http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/

There are several members there who have the NVMs (Namentliche Verlustmeldungen) for 1944 that would have the information and details you need.

Thank you for your response but unfortunately the registration at http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/ has been disabled by the administrator.

On 23/24 June 1944 Wight-Boycott shot down a Ju 188F-1 Wk-Nr 281620 "F6+JL" of 3(F)./122
so its possible the 26/27 September 1944 victim was from a reconnaissance gruppe

Thanks again
