Plane type and Squadron identification

Post by DeanDarvil » 11 Sep 2023 16:55

Dear Forum,

I am trying to identify what type of german plane is in this photo, I know its a long shot due to its damage, secondly to try and identify what Squadron it's from, from its partial markings and lastly what air field it may be on. I believe the photo to be taken late April 1945 some where in germany. I believe the dakota behind it is from the 310th Troop Carrier Squadron, any information about their movements in late April 1945 would also be appreciated.

Many thanks

My guess based on what's there is it's a Ju 90 or 290.

Hi,

Many thanks for your reply, I posted the same picture on www.ww2talk.com and had a possible identification of a JU 290.
