Maj deR zV Paul Groeger

Mates,
I wonder if you can give any details on the service of Paul Groeger in the Navy during WWI and the Luftwaffe in WWII

Paul died 11-10-43 consequent to an accident whilst on the staff of Dulag Luft Oberursel
Can you give any more on this accident, was it flying or motor ?

What I have
Groeger Paul LtzS deR Marine 1st WO UC 23 Halbflottillenarzt U Boat Halbflottille Constantinople Flotilla 8-17 to 1918

(1895 at Jannowitz DoA 11-10-43) in crash Served on SMS Pillau to the "SMS Derfflinger" 9-15 & SMS Steingrund" and "SMS Amrumbank" to U boat service 6-16 on UB 36 to UC 69 12-16 to Mittelmeerdivision WO UC 23 8-17 post war employed with Pan American Airways in Havana later WW2 as Luftwaffe (shown to Maj deR z.V (Flieger) died consequent to an accident whilst on the staff of Dulag Luft Oberursel 1943 shown US National Archives online records of the German Navy Item 808

In our (deZeng/Stankey) Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries on website www.ww2.dk, all we have on this reserve officer is:
GROEGER, Paul. (W.B.K. Dessau). 01.06.43 promo to Maj. d.R.z.V. (Flieger).

Did you search for his Death Card on Fold 3? You can also e-mail WAST:

Both of these sources almost certainly have the information you are after. He is not listed in the Luftwaffe records for flying personnel (air crew) KIA, WIA and MIA so I strongly doubt it was an aircraft accident. These records are 99% complete for 1943 and he is not shown.
