Japanesse Gyrocopters Pics?

Post by Andy H » 02 Nov 2003 15:30

I read recently that Japan was thinking of adding Gyrocopters to certain warship classes.

Does anyone have any further info or pics on this matter?

I saw a documentary on these and I am too interested

Their plan was to carry out guerilla raids but before the aircraft carriers (they used really small ones, so essentially a merchant ship with a small runway) could get within range of their intended targets they were sunk

I cant find any pics tho =(

Hi Andy

If you go to page 5 of this site you will find a post of mine entitled lesser Known JAAF types. There you will find some info and a photo with regard to the Kayaba Ka-1 autogyro.

Regards

Bob

There's a Wikipedia link about the Kayaba Ka-1/Ka-2 autogyro:
