hi.

theres a clue in the filename of the picture :P
(which doesn't show up in your post, by the way.)

Its a Heinkel He-162 Volksjaeger - "the peoples fighter" .

some information & specifications here:
http://www.vectorsite.net/avhe162.html

http://www.csd.uwo.ca/~pettypi/elevon/b ... 2_mm.html
It apparently had an ejector seat too:

I just got a copy of "Discovery Channel - Weapons of War - German Fighters" which covers this plane and the other jet/rocket powered planes, with some lovely footage of an me262 flying and landing.

edit:

Thanks everyone :D it looks to me like a very dangerous jet if it were to fly against allied aircraft.

Some pilots actually praised He 162. Most of the deficiencies were made due to quick planning and production. But the majority of pilots who flew He162 weren't experienced enough and so the airplane was quite dangerous. He 162 was very unstable and hard to control. But it had an eject seat. Anyway, only 170 He162 were built.

Best wishes,
Polona

Increasing shortages of experienced Luftwaffe pilots prompted the recruitment of many teenage boys from the Hitler Youth to fly the He 162, and a training glider variant of the Spatz, called He 162S, was built for training Hitler Youth pilots, featuring a pilot's seat and a second seat for the flight instructor.
