Hello!

What would a unit with this name do?
As far as I know, they had 2 big masts outside their barrack which the British refers to as "D/F".....

What does the abrevation mean?

Hello.

D/F is for Direction Finder, Ln.Betr.Z.20 should be
Luftnachtricht(en) Betreib Zug. 20(spelling might be wrong)

So it should be a direction finder for aircraft, its connected to the radarsystem (before/during?)

Hello Stril!

Thanks for your info!
This "züg" had 35 men in a underground system, including a motorized unit, 6 machineguns and a 5cm mortar....

Do you know what the Luftwaffe would nead an "motorized" direction finder for in Norway :) ?

Erik

Hello Erik.
It doesnt sound like you are convinced that its a zug..
I would not pretend that im know much about it, i dont really.
But i do have the info that the D/F is a direction finder, D/F station could/should be it, not a motorized direction finder, but a fixed position for D/F.
Happy new year.
Regards
Stril
